Commercial Pilot’s License (CPL) – The CASA Exams

The Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL) allows you to fly for private and commercial operations under Part 61 of CASR.

To test your theory, CASA requires you to pass seven exams on different subjects. These exams can be completed in any order; however, they must all be passed within two years from the date of your first pass.

Each CPL exam has its own time limit and pass marks that are listed below:

1. Air Law – CLWA – 2 hours – at least 80% to pass.
2. Aerodynamics – CADA – 1.5 hours – at least 70% to pass.
3. Basic Aircraft Knowledge – CSYA – 1.5 hours – at least 70% to pass.
4. Human Factors – CHUF – 1.25 hours – at least 70% to pass.
5. Performance – CFPA – 2.5 hours – at least 70% to pass.
6. Meteorology – CMET – 1.5 hours – at least 70% to pass.
7. Navigation – CNAV – 1.75 hours – at least 70% to pass.

Exam Structure:

• Each CPL subject includes three exams containing 40 questions each.
  – Questions are sourced from three distinct question pools to guarantee no repeated questions across the three exams during your initial attempt.
  – We allow multiple attempts at each exam. However, each pool of questions is limited; there is no guarantee that further attempts will produce a brand-new set of questions.
  – The exams are not time-limited, allowing you to complete the questions at your own pace. You may save your progress and continue at a later time.

   

• We have included a timed exam of 60 questions to simulate exam conditions.
  – This exam will draw questions from all three of the question pools.
  – We suggest you treat this as if you were completing the CASA exam to ensure you can meet the time requirement. 

You can also check your answers as you answer each question or check them all at the end; the choice is yours.

What to expect after your purchase:

Within 15 minutes of your purchase, you will receive an email that will prompt you to create an account with Sky Logic. Once you have completed this, you will gain immediate access to the practice exams you purchased through our website’s “My Account” section.

If you purchase the individual CPL subjects, the practice exams for this subject will remain available for up to 90 days after purchase. 

If you purchase all seven subjects as a set, the practice exams for all subjects will remain available to you for up to 12 months after purchase.
